Job Description:

Our client in Ontario, a Geotechnical engineering consulting firm has an immediate opening for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with experience in the Canadian market.

The successful candidate will possess key consultancy skills, well rounded technical ability, and ability to develop and retain clientele.

Overview

Project focus will include tunneling, pavement and various transportation sector developments inclusive of bridge foundation design, slope stability, site assessments and surface mining. The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will need to be capable at the level of design analysis.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently as necessary, but can easily move into a leadership role, managing various projects, schedules, workloads and providing mentorship to team members where essential. Further, they will see the big picture and contribute to business development.

The successful candidate will have confidence in the management of tender and negotiations with clientele throughout the cycle of a project.

Required Skills:

*Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 10 - 15 years of Geotechnical engineering experience

*Canadian P.Eng. registration with eligibility for registration in Ontario

*Proficient at planning, costing, managing and processing geotechnical investigation programs

*Concise communication skills as a team member, inclusive of good listening and information registering abilities to facilitate the client-consultant relationship

*Proven capabilities in planning and supervising and in writing reports and technical communications

*Technical design experience and expertise in reinforced concrete, structural steel, piled/other foundations and earthworks.

*Competency in seismic design and analysis.

*Familiarity of engineering practices in the Ontario market

*Strong and confident technical knowledge of geotechnical engineering

*Good character, strong people skills, a positive attitude and the ability to work well with others and gain respect as a leader

*Experience in client development, working in a team setting to meet timelines and other skills appropriate to consulting

*Computer proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products

*Ability of engineering marketing, preparation of proposals, and technical direction considered assets
